Vehicle theft ends with arrest
An investigation into a vehicle stolen from the 300 block of Castle Street lead police to James Termini Saturday, a press release from the police department said.
Termini, 22, of 12881 White Oak Ave., Cedar Lake, has been charged with auto theft, theft and failure to stop for a property damage accident. He was taken into custody about 1 p.m. Saturday and is being held in the Lake County Jail, police said.
According to the press release, the auto theft charge involves a 2001 green Chevrolet truck stolen from the Castle Street home's driveway. The theft charge stems from an incident during which several items were taken from a home on Harrison Street in Lowell. The failure of duty charge relates to an accident report taken by Lake County Police about one block north of Termini's home, police said.
All of the incidences reportedly occurred between 1 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
